Without the additional work to the IM, neither would really give any power. BUT...if you buy one now...you can do the IM work yourself, or have it done later when you can afford it.
the BTB/BIM combo was good for 3.5 HP and 3.7 Ft.lbs of torque on Yamenko's Elantra.

Is there an after market BIM I could buy for the 2001 Elantra? I will be getting the BTB here in about a week. Would like the install to go smooth. Dont really want to have the IM bored out. Nor do it myself. How does the TPS bolt up to the adjustable BTB from SR? Is it a simple install? ie do-it-yourself?

The TPS goes on very easily with no mods.

TB's are universial across all beta motors. even the 1.6. The only difference is the Size of the opening.
There is no point in getting a bored IM without boring the TB to match, just like there is no point in boring out the TB, without matching the TB.

There is no such thing as a p&p kit. If you are refering to grinding wheels and discs..you can buy those at any hardware store, however you need the knowledge to do it right....
