Maybe Im wrong but i thought hyundai started designing and building all of thier own engines in the mid 90's........
but if the 4g63 and the g4cp (beta) engines really were a joint venture.....would the US NA heads from a 4g63 be a bolt on affair????
------------
// thanks

Re: 97 Tiburon vs. 03 Acura RSX type S
ok well the 4g63 and the beta heads are VERY similiar, but not the same. There are a few small differences. I've seen a beta head (have a beta torn down in my garage right now) and i've seen the 4g63t head because of the elantra project. But a swap wont work. Reason I figured this out is because the head gaskets are diff, so there are differences.

Re: Squeeling Power Steering Belt
no, I am pretty sure that there were other engines before the beta2.. including the beta1. The only real difference between beta1 and 2 is the head has been altered to allow some form of variable valve timing. So, if the beta 2 is a real hyundai engine, so is the beta 1
