I popped mine out once by pulling on my release fork. Maybe your clutch release fork is comming back too far?

It dosn't make any sence to me either, but it's the only thing I did and mine popped out once.

Nah, it couldn't be the release fork.

I looked at the inner CV boot on the drivers side and there are only 2 ribs on the boot from the axle to the CV section. All of the other boots have 3 (but even the oem axle that came off it has 2 ribs???). If I slide the boot in toward the trans on the axle side, the pulling force goes away and it stays pushed into the trans. Only problem is that there is a slight groove notched in the axle where the boot is meant to be clamped, so the boot just settles back into that position anyway.

Could someone take a quick look and let me know if their drivers side inner CV boot has 2 or 3 ribs? - Thanks.

I will have to try and get a new CV boot for the inner drivers side axle.

Does any company make beefier axles for our cars, or do the stockers hold fine upwards of 400 hp?

there is some company that makes them custom for our cars.. supposed to hold upwards of 600hp. i think they were like 350$ a piece or something.. i don't remember who posted it. has been a while.

but as far as i know our axles can hold a pretty good amount of power.. tims axles on his elantra held at 427whp.

Thanks guys,

I found the 3 rib boot kit with the clamps and grease for 19 at advance auto.

The tool for the clamps is 50 though lol.

I think I am just going to get the boot and the tool, the guy said it was a high quality rubber boot so hopefully it works out.

When I cut the clamps on the current inner boot, will the CV joint just slide apart? I think the outer joint is the only one with a snap in design right? Since the inner is the length-adjusting joint I figure I can just slide it apart nice and easy?

Thanks again.

Problem solved!

I purchased an OUTER CV boot (this one has 3 ribs instead of 2 so it is longer in length), installed it and it hasn't pulled out since.

I am so glad I don't have to worry about dropping transmission fluid all over the pavement now.

AWESOME! A simple inexpensive fix. Hopefully it doesn't ever happen again.

... wait... what was that about length adjustment? I noticed my passenger side wheel sticks out slightly more then my driver's side. would this length adjust correct that?
It may have just been a figment of my immagination or light trick or something. I've never been in a wreck and the car drives fine.
