Kind of along the same idea as hyundaidb883 had. I wonder if it might have had more of a tendency to slip beause of how smooth the pulley was. Most OEM car parts don't come with surface finishes that smooth. Maby it needed to be a little more rough to grab the pulley. This is just a thought I don't realy know that much about cars but it seems to make sence.
Just retighten the belts a few days after installed and try not to got through big puddles. Keep a spair belt and the tools to install it. I would have been fine if I did that.

Next time don't forget to turn blower on the max and turn heater all the way on high, that should help a bit with cooling........... hmm, but no belt = no coolant circulation...
power steering has it's own belt.
