I was looking around the net today and it doesn't seem like there is a listing of TB bolt patterns anywhere.

Well, I figure, most of us have access to more than one car, so why not check to see what we can find for a BBTB swap direct from a readily available car?

Here's what I need for this.

1. Model, Year, and Engine info on the car you are measuring for.
2. Measurement of the TB Opening at Intake Manifold flange.
3. Measurement of bolt hole pattern. From center to center of each bolt (IE: Top & Bottom 2.5, Sides, 2.5)
4. Diameter of bolt holes.
5. Pictures (Not CRITICIAL, but very helpful.)
6. Any other info. Is there a Bypass passage over the Butterfly valve? TPS screw pattern and the Butterfly shaft size.

Example.

System Co. GTR TB

1. Hyundai Beta 1 Series, ANY.
2. 2 5/16's or 58MM.
3. 2.5" X 4
4. 3/8"
5. N/A (It fits.)
6. D Pattern shaft, 3/8" Diameter. TPS offset for screws 1", 1.25", at a angle.

1. 2004 Ford Mustang, 3.8L
2. 2 3/8"
3. 3" X 2.5"
4. .25"
5. None yet.
6. TPS Offset 3/4" offset up and down. Idle Air Bypass on top of TPS over Butterfly Valve. TPS = 3 Wire.

And the newer ones have the damned idle air bypass over the butterfly valve.

Well looking at my old Eclipse throttle body its way off and would never work... and none of the other cars I have access to have throttle bodies in the first place.

Whatever happened to the Ford Mustang thing?

I don't see it causing too much of a problem. The TB is really an extension of the CAI, it really doesn't do anything major performance wise.

1 inch = 22.5mm or so

AEM Intakes and the like are 3inches. So for a few inches your better matching your TB->Intake ports, instead of slamming the 68mm CAI down to 52mm in one area.

^^^ sorry but 1 inch = 25.4 mm ,just so nobody makes a mistake there. I'm looking into the 87'-93' mustang throttle body soon, it should allow us to eliminate our factory idle bypass ans use the ford unit since they are both 3 wire.

Hey, I was close... LOL. Millimeters and the like are for stupid Europeans and Asians anyway... laugh.gif

Its not verified totally yet, although some people are pretty sure it will work (I think Random said its been done before).
