So, what's the problem? The end caps are cardboard...is that the issue? My truck has 460,000 miles on it and runs Fram oil and air filters. Don't buy the expensive = better argument.

So after watching the Mobile One filter tear down I see that all filters are basically the same and I should always buy the cheapest. Check. Waste of time. Check.

so after watching the STP, Mobil 1, Purolator, Fram, Bosch, Amsoil .... the only differences are the end caps on some. The Amsoil and Wix have a spring instead of rubber anti-drain back, and the Amsoil has a synthetic (not paper) filter.

I've seen Amsoil being fairly popular on the internet. Is the synthetic filter the reason? For $16, I'll stick with OEM.

If we could get a high flow/high volume oil pump, we could use a FRAM also. With the stock oil pump, OEM, Purolator, Mobil 1 etc but no FRAM.

I buy like 5 filters at a time from hyundaioemparts.com for $4.90 per filter which is cheaper than aftermarket filters. Almost every filter I have tried caused excess HLA noise compared to OEM.
