Ac Belt Squealing
#1
Raven997's belt misaligned topic led me to start this. Ever since I did the motor/trans. swap my AC belt has been squealing. The motor/trans. came out of an 01 Tib and I used my original compressor and a new belt. After I got everything together and fired it up, the AC belt squealed constantly with air on or off.
So I put on a new belt, same problem.
So I put on a new compressor, same belt, same problem.
New belt, same new compressor, same problem.
I went through 3 compressors and 4 belts.
You get the idea. I absolutely hate it and cannot get it to stop. Any ideas. Belt dressing hasn't helped either.

Does the AC Compressor belt have a tensioner bearing?
and what about the AC Compressor clutch?
And are you using the correct belt? I do not know, but it is possible that Hyundai Changed the mounting bracket for the later engines and the old belt is too long.

There is a tensioner and I have replaced it also. I bought a belt for a 98 and then one for an 01 also. The compressor's clutch started as my main area for inspection. But three bad clutches in a row seemed odd. I don't if somehow something came out of alignment maybe. Don't know what would have though. The reason I thought that is because on the 3rd compressor it was quiet but then after driving it for about 2 days it started up with the squealing. mad.gif sad.gif
