Alright so I've had all these issues with the shark racing throttle body, suprise suprise, throtle not responding right away, fuel percent off, yada yada yada. K-spec aparently doesn't sell the stock looking BBTB's anymore because they're $0 and you can't buy them. I also don't want the damn aluminum ones anymore because I don't trust them. Bottom line, my car used to be fun and thrilling to drive, now it's difficult and cumbersome. I'd rather sacrifice some pony's to have a great driving car again. My question is this... how bad is it going to hurt me to pinch the straw? The car's got pulleys, and headers, a 3" CAI, an airram intake manifold, and that... f!#@$%@ throttle body. So we got this 3" pipe that now squeezes down to the stock TB then opens up to the airam. Thoughts? Options? Stock throttle donations? A new one from Hyundai's $220. I know, I had to order a new stock one, because I accidently destroyed the original. Don't ask.

Sorry mate, I've not seen any previous posts regarding the issues you're having with the TB but have you tried adjusting the throttle cable? Is the butterfly sticking maybe? If it's sticking (from the butterfly possibly having been cut slightly too big &/or sharp), you may just need to remove it & have it cut back slightly.

Otherwise, I have a stock TB (minus pulley) sitting around... I'm in Australia though sad.gif

I think the TB is one of the last mods you should put on. Turbo guys don't need it until after 300whp. I would go with some cams, or SAFC. REAL might have some TB's soon.

Which SR TB is it? The old OEM lookin one or the System GTR one that they sell now? Did you adjust your throttle cable after you installed it? Did you adjust your idle screw?

When I found a deal on a GTR BBTB on ebay and was running it alone, stock everything else, I actually thought I noticed quite a bit of difference and sound in the TOP end. Although the butterfly did stick a lot, kinda sucked.

a dremel + 20 minutes of your time = no more sticking throttle body.

not sure if this is relevant...

me and random recently solved one of my idling issues..

It was an aftermarket TB that had a butteryfly a bit small for the TB... It was enough to give me nightmares.

Not sure where we got it from though... since we have so many dam parts coming in and out of his house and mine...

I would check the butterfly.

Listen fellas, I know what the problem is, the female tps connector need to be rotated counterclockwise more than where the screw holes are drilled at. It causes serious computer malfunction. I'm not retatrded, it's not the throttle cable. It has nothing to do with anything sticking. A team of specialistes looked at this thing hooked it up to computers and finally figure out what it realy was. It causes the fuel ratio to be off from the 8-8.5% it's suppost to be and screws up the car. We've tried rotating in ourselves in various ways, but now how much you rotate it, it eventually goes back to doing it again after a month or so. So, how much horsepower do you think I'll lose for the stock swap.
