Got 71k on my 01, and haven't changed timing belts. Car runs just fine, no broken belt yet tongue.gif

Do you have 500 bucks for a new motor or a AAA membership?

Is water pump DIY easier or harder than doing timing belt?

Its more or less wrapped into the whole Timing Belt change. Its about the same difficulty as you have to do just about everything for the belt change to get to the water pump.

Chad- Here is a follow up i did after i did mine. http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...ming+belt\
If you have to tools and the time and the patience then i would do it yourself. One word of advice, the power steering belt shipped in the SFR kit did not fit my car i had to get a different belt.
