I rev to about 6500 on the highway in mine and it still works.
As for the 6 speed, if you search, yes, there supposedly is one from the FTO, only available overseas.

No 3 letter words anymore? Since when? They need to fix that.
Try the google site search.

Yeah ^^. It's been like that for a while. It's kind of a pain searching for AEM FIC, and stuff like that.
Oh and are you sure it's the FTO? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_FTO
Wiki says they don't have a 6-speed.

Pretty sure that's what was talked about here before, the only reason I remember that name.
Some info in this thread, I found it using the google site search.

^^^ i have looked through all the FTO threads numerous times through the years but when i started trying to source the parts they were none existance. i havent looked into the galant swap at all so maybe that still is an option. I would definatly not bother looking at the FTO as an option any more though.

Just for poops and hahas I was browsing the options for 6-speeds in beta powered cars and it looks like both the Kia cee'd and Hyundai i30 offer this in other markets. What is even more interesting is that both of these cars are variants of what is sold in the US as the Elantra Touring, yet the HD Elantra has no 6-speed offer as of yet. At least not that I know of. It would be interesting for someone to get one of these.
As a side note, not that it's even remotely realistic for anyone with a greater number of neurons than he has income, has anyone even humored the idea Tuscon 5 speed AWD swap? I have seen a bunch of posts all over about a 4G63t swap for the purposes a going AWD but could one do the same with the beta? Granted there is still the question of the entire rear drive-train and space but if you are already pondering an engine swap from a another mfr you planning to spend some serious bones as it is. Just a retarded question for personal curiosity.
