I wonder how shot peening or water peening the OEM rods would work. Think it would be worth a damn?

Yep shot peening would be worth it. But the oem rods can handle 300 whp without the shot peening, but it would give you a little bit more piece of mind.

But anything more then 300 I would switch out the rods for some pauters. Even if your oem rods where shot peened.

Check out Cryo Treating. They gaurantee several times the stock rigidity.

over here most shops stop at 300, on stock rods. bust as far as doing the shot pen not here even the cryo shit you cant do here.

but i have a friend that works for korea air and he hook me up with some TI 1/2' thick sheets i want to make some valve washer/retainer with it bit have not gotten around to it yet

That is good to know. I'm starting my own list to compare it to the quote that the shop gave me, so i'll keep you posted on my progress. I have a couple of questions which i'll start on another thread.
