300whp Stock Rods.
#1
I'm starting to gather up parts to boost up the motor and need to know if the stock rods could handle up to 300whp. I would upgrade the rods but unfurtunately I need to have a shop do the install so I need to cut some corners. I know that I should have the rods replaced since i'm already there. Not looking to boost crazy power but enough to keep people at bay, lol. Plus I need to spend it on an engine management system, prob the PRS. Later .

rods should hold 300whp.
I am at 250whp 290WTQ and beat on the car everyday. Run it on the track on the weekends. I am using tigerlly cast pistons and on the good tune the engine is showing no signs of disliking it. Compression is great.
The car will make 300WHP when i switch to external wastegate and i am not worried about the rods.

its comforting knowing that our rods are that strong
the spec v guys have problems after like 250hp (ive seen 3 or 4 bent rods)

250HP?
I have 2 friends with turbo spec v's one is at 298WHP other is at 268WHP both are on stock internals. With a good tune you will be suprized what stock motors can support.

LOL, I had forgotten where I had my own post. lol. That's good news, alike that I could save $800 on just that alone. With that I could get the PRS. So i'm looking at about $3000 with a head job, what do you guys think? I know that stock internals would hold out with quite a bit of power but eventually the rings will give, like me. I've been riding around for a year and seven months (about 15000 miles) again, I have a heavy foot. fing02.gif

725 for the rods. WOW expensive.
I say go with weisco or tigerlly pistons, use the stock rods, get a head job, buy the prs and run 270-300 WHP daily. fing02.gif
Wait thats what I will be doing when i get my head ported/polished. Well using the e6x instead of the prs. But whatever. Standalone is the only way to go fing02.gif
