Damn, HMA serivce used to list one of the 2.0L exhaust cams (don't remember if it was Elantra or Tiburon) as "better" than the 1.8L Exhaust cam.

I just checked and now they all spec out the same (exhaust cam)....

Breaking the bolts shouldn't have screwed the entire head up... did he drill through the entire head or something? LOL.

^yup, he drilled into the head.

And nope hes not touching it anymore, LOL. Im just lucky that I had an extra one laying around. Or rather he's lucky.

It is a Rev A but we took the chain retaining clip out. We're also obviously putting the 1.8 cam back in, haha. So this whole thing was pointless. LOL

You might want to put that back in there. It's in there for a reason.... from what I've been able to figure out, the Rev-A heads have a bit more oil flow to the head/chain area and that piece is there to catch the oil fling off so it doesn't get sucked up by the PCV/Breather tubes on the Valve cover.

BTW...That's a Wild ass semi-educated guess.. but If I'm right, you don't want all that oil ending up sucked in the intake manifold by the PCV or into the intake by the breather tube.

true, an oil catch would take care of that... but why not use the factory piece as well? It certainly beats having to empty the catch can every week.
