i've tried searches and saw a few posts about them but still unclear to me. I heard that the 1.8 ecu is reportedly better than the 2.0 ecu in a 2.0 tib. But if i had the ecu and a 1.8 cam in my car would that be better or would the 1.8 cam take away from the advantages some how?
thank you!

Don't waste your time on that mod ... get the new aftermarket cams and ecu from RE (check out the vendors section).

With the 1.8 ecu and the 1.8 cam you will get more HP with the combination of the two, however the difference from what I've read (by searching) is not much. IMO, not enough bang for the buck.

the 1.8 cam is a good cheap mod.
tibby01, you don't need to take off the timing belt to change the cam

You don't need to touch the belt to change the cam.

I just finished adding my 1.8L cam on my car. It feels great driving it now. Go for the mod you'll enjoy it.

If you can afford it.. getting the timing belt changed is THE best time to change over to an underdrive pulley.

Any yes, I loved the change in my Tib by going to the 1.8 intake cam. It pulls a little stronger, sounds a little meaner, and there is no downside.. what more could you ask for?

I'd say yes, as it would allow more boosted air into the engine.
