Not all of the cars were unreliable. The Escorts were probably the more reliable out of all of the Ford cars. Or better yet, look at all the Tempos, and Tauruses still driving around. They actually still run......thats the most impressive part.
I hate Fords too, but my Escort has rarely caused me problems unless it was a problem with the way I maintained it....(ie: never changed the timing belt...210,000kms... 230,000+ on the original auto tranny)

I have to agree there. My first car was an 82 Tempo that was handed down to me from my step-mom. I drove the hell out of that car, and when I bought my second car, I handed it off to my 16 year old cousin. She drove it up until last year... apparently the whole engine siezed up on her. But again... how well does a 16 year old girl maintain her car? *chuckles* I bet if she'd put oil in it, that car would still be running today.
