Laptop Broken!
#1
Yep, my laptop shit out on me today. I wish it could have just lasted another couple weeks when I could afford a new one. Anyway it was like a $500 one and Ive had it for a couple years but it still sucks. Now, to get one how I want its going to be almost $1500. Which I guess isnt to bad but I just dont want to spend it when I have a whole lot of better things I could spend that money on. The hard drives shot on the one Ive been using and I dont want to replace it. Is it supercow that sells computers, or who? Maybe Ill get ahold of that person if I can figure out who it is. Not sure if anyone will read this but I wanted to vent a little. If anyone knows of a place that has good deals let me know. Here is a basic idea of what I am wanting:
about 2gb memory
200gb HD or close
cd/dvd burner and lightscribe would be nice
decent sized screen, current is 15.4"
wireless is a must
built in camera, bluetooth would be great
fingerprint thing would be cool but lowest priority
ones i looked at came with vista premium
Through Dell I could get a 17 inch with everything i listed minus the camera and i think it was like $1300 or so. Damn

Ya and thats what Ill end up doing. I have the money I just dont want it to be all gone at once. Ill probably just order one in the next couple days. Gotta get the credit to go through but it should be ok

I have had my dell laptop for about 4 and half years, it has taken so much abuse and its still kicking. I would recommend a dell laptop to anyway. And as I said 4 screens, and 1 can of red bull (spilled it on it when it was off :-/) and the laptop is still kicking strong

true true, you could get a local shop to pop in another drive ~100, plus typically 55 to install os. So you could be back up and running for under $200.

But I'm getting the feeling that your just looking for a reason to upgrade. fing02.gif

There's a reason those are so much cheaper than everyone else. Plus it's probably vista basic.. might as well stay with xp.
It's probably an acer, their ok at best, but if your going to be using your laptop alot, traveling, and need a reliable piece I wouldn't trust it.
