Default Will these bad boy tires fit?

I am autocrossing a 03 Tiburon and have a chance to buy some very nice Toyo RA1s. They are

255/40R17

I have coilovers and have dropped the car but I am not worried about diameter but rather tire width.

Does anyone know if a Tiburon wheel well will accomodate a 255?

I hope so!

Thank to all who reply!

Since the car is dropped, you might have some rubbing issues with that width of a tire. Plus, your speedo is going to be thrown off a bit too. Are you ONLY going to be using the tires for Auto-X or for every day driving?

Well, stock tires on an 03 GT (in Alberta, Canada) are Michelin Pilot Sport 215/45R17...

And as for the Toyos, they would only be used for autocrossing. The best price I can get here in Canada is $300 a wheel. A guy from my club is offering these tires off his Porsche 911. They are his front tires. Since he is rear wheel drive he wears out rears faster than fronts. And he only was $25! And if the tread is down to 4/32", they are perfect for the front wheel drive TIb! But will they fit?

I would say on stock suspension, they MIGHT fit, but if you're dropped....more than likely they will definitly rub. 255 is a pretty damn wide tire. huh.gif You could always roll your fender though if you think there will be too much rubbing.

Rolling the fenders sounds awesome. I bet it would look very cool...and make a shark which you felt you had to keep your eyes on when swimming in the same pond!

Now I just have to wait for the guys who throws sacks of money at people to come down my street! banana.gif

Thanks for the advice!
