Default Will auto-xing wear out your tie rods?

Thinking about hitting up a 3 or 4 auto-x events in the next couple of months but I was wondering if i should buy a spare set of tie rods, since I have heard that constant hard cornering will kill the tie rods pretty quick. Can anyone confirm?

Your car is going to be a pile of rust eventually. I might go as far as making sure the local parts house or dealership keeps these in stock, but buying a spare set just in case is throwing away money IMO.

Buy OEM tie rods. All the aftermarket ones I installed on my car failed within months of being installed but the OEM ones last for years. You will probably break end links before your tie rods get bad enough to require replacing, at least thats what my car usually does after continuous extreme driving.

I have been autocrossing since 2008 and have 168k miles on my Accent, and the tie rods are just now slightly showing wear. Still not needing replacement.
