Now that's something I have experience with. I actually purchased 16" AR-157. They cost $1600 cdn with tax and low profile BF Goodrich TA tires.
Here they were on my old car...

I might still get AR wheels for the "Ninja Owl" (the unoficial nickname for my car) but not AR-157...been there, done that.

American Racing is to rims as Jenson is to car amps. They're not really too expensive, and they're not a high line series of rims, but they get the job done.

I guess i'll give my opinion as I have always seen it. Don't think bad of me but I can't stand to see AMERICAN racing wheels on an IMPORT. Just the name makes me hate it. And also I know peeps have to live on a budget sometimes but I would never buy performance wheels as sears or walmart. This is my own opinion and I don't criticize peeps for having them. I just don't go for it. Sorry.

I had a set on my wife's Sonata and we had a problem with the clear coat cracking, had to have 2 wheels replaced and the problem still occured. I vowed never to buy them again. Oh they were the ones with the mesh style inside and the chrome lip, they came in silver or gold, we had silver of course.

I will admit I did get some scratches on my AR-157s fairly easily. Its why I am apprehensive. However, the "Carrera" style is my current choice from them. I thought of Motegi but I fear they don;t cost enough (must be cheap quality). In the Spring, when I finally get around to doing this, I will fix my budget to around $2000 cdn (about $1300 us) and hope I can get something good.
Course, now that I think about it...I kinda agree with 1FSTSHRK. I don't think I want anything with the name "American" on it attatched to my import. Must look elsewhere. smile.gif
As for the "Ninja Owl" nickname..its an inside joke between my friends that stuck. Anyone who looked at the washer lights at night from inside the car might understand the joke. smile.gif
