KYB retailer is talking about "that smooth relaxing ride" from these shocks.. will that maintain the stiff suspension if i replace all 4 with KYB?

I have them with H&R springs and its pretty stiff. It rolls this much with azenis and 38 in the rear and 42 up front.

Thats .98gs you wont pull half that on the road. Well if you do thats unsafe unless for advoidance.

ok, thanks. anyone tried these on stock springs? I've never bought struts before, i found a good deal on a set of 4. I want to make sure that these will maintain the "porche tuning" that felt so nice when my shocks were new.

QUOTE (DrivingTibNaked @ Jan 4 2006, 04:52 AM)
The setup cost $350 and 3 hours of install. It required alot of thinking and planning as the directions were poor. I needed a drill, sockets, screw driver and wire taps to complete the job.

I just installed my brother's hitch this past weekend, and it was Hell.

Got it from etrailer.com, the directions said it would bolt right up in 40 minutes install time. LIES.

It said to remove 8mm bolts securing the Evap canister. No 8mm bolts or Evap canister. No big deal.

It said to remove 12mm bolts from the frame rails, they were 18mm. That may sound like another minor mistake, but the four bolt holes in the hitch were small, and did not line up well with the frame rails. And THAT meant a ton of work after all the trouble of getting it over the muffler already.

After several fittings and a lot of filing, I got three of the four holes lined up so a bolt could pass through. The supplied hardware they included is very high quality, unfortunately it did not fit the frame's holes which have nuts welded inside, so I had to reuse the original bolts, which are too short for me to trust with a load. By this time I was on my back under my brother's Tiburon in the pouring rain in 40 degree weather with dirty water dripping on my face trying to finish this so he could make his 150 mile drive home in time for work. It was not fun.

The hitch is very high quality, though, and rated for more than a tib could pull. It will be an easier install the second time around since I will be prepared for modification. I might sell my Yakima car top carrier and rack system and get a really small trailer. I wonder if that would be better on gas. Much less wind resistance, but then you have two more (albeit narrow) wheels on the road, and an extra 100+ lbs. I could mount several bikes and a cartop carrier right to that though. And it would be pretty versatile. No more hauling recyclables to the dump inside my car.

try to follow the directions on loading a trailer with the light stuff up front. when you pull a trailer, you can usually flip the hitch over so it's lower on the trailer, puts more weight back further. Don't mess up your shocks mang. that's like $180 at autozone you don't need to pay for rear shocks.

Learn drafting tehniques... getting behind a semi and driving close is about the only cost effective way to get cross country with a uhaul.

Next time someone says your car is small, just tell them about how it looks with a 5x8 uhaul attached, kinda dwarfs the car.
