Removing Captive Rotor Bolts
#1
Well ive read a lot about shaving them down a little or getting spacers or even doing the swap....im actually getting fed up with the tib and want an easy way to fix this without spending a lot more money than i already have.
Ive had spacers before but i had the vibration at high speeds with them.
Id spend the money to get the swap but I dont have the time to install it myself...I really dont have a lot of time to do shit.
The guy at discount tire suggested removing the bolts. Well i said the bolts hold it together. He said he has done it before and called 3 companies with me standing there and all of them saying we should just shave them down or take them out...
anyone ever done this or heard of it being done?

iono man, that sounds kinda dangerous. wouldnt shaving it down mess up the structure of the bolt? Well if he can do it with no problem let him haha. if anything goes wrong tell him to fix it.

^^^ how much would that run me? and how long do you think it would take me to install?
i just dont want my shit not to be connected to where i wont beable to break or something....
if two bolts hold the hub to the rotor then removing them would mean nothing is holding them together right?
or is the center thing holding it down also?

well if i remember correctly its 110 for both hubs plus shipping
youll need some rotors (i can see about gettin some but they will prob need to be cut) i have a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors i can send you for just shipping they will need to be replaced later on but it will allow you to drive on them until you find some noncaptive rotors
swapping is actually pretty easy it take off the stock spindle then throw it away install the new spindle, rotor, caliper bracket and pads
each side will take about a hour more or less
if redz can do it you can lmao.gif

yeah there fine just gettin a little thin i say put some cheapo autozone pads and cruise like that for a week until new parts come in if your short on cash
if i find any this weekend ill let you know if you got some spare cash order them asap as its gonna cost like a extra 15 bux anyways to ship those rotors (if not more) might as well put that toward some new rotors
ill look this weekend for a set for yas
