A dual piston big brake setup.. unfortunately i dont think we will be able to increase the size of the rotor. I am going to tinker with that idea one more time

So far we have SLIGHT clearance issues with the dust shield

There are two spots..
The caliper will be grinded a bit and everything should be ok after that...

These calipers will recieve the same treatment (and color) as my Si



What do you guys think?

Is it calipers from XG/Sante Fe?

I'd like to see a photo with the pads installed. You want to make sure the pads of the new calipers fit/grip the rotor with the same/more surface area than the old calipers. If there's a signifcant portion of the pads that make no contact with the rotors, then the pads might crack/warp, not to mention the top edges of the rotors aren't designed for 'wear' like that. You might damage the rotors.

If you can use the larger rotor, then you should have no worries. Just remove the dust-shield. It's not really needed in So Cal driving.

Well im actually planning on fixing the dust shield problem first and fitting them on there..

i still have the old pads that came with the caliper.. so ill be refitting them

I wasnt able to bolt them on because of the slight clearance issues...
Ill have more pics this weekend.

right now my cost sits at $100.

Of course i havent finished yet.

Does anyone remember the exact size of the tiburon rotors?

O.D.- 10.118 in
disc thickness- .95 in
pad thickness- .43 in
cylinder id- 2.126 in


Would you like to know the rear discs and/or drums?

thanx

right now i dont need the rear ones..

im trying to see if i can squeeze some larger rotors in there.

These are the santa fe calipers. I remember reading that they used 12" rotors, yet it looks like the 10" tiburon rotors are a perfect fit.

I guess ill wait until this weekend when i manage to completly bolt them on.

im pretty sure the sante fe uses 11" rotors and the only us spec thing that had 12 was the xg.... remember 11" rotors is only .5 inches per side so it may be what u need to fill it better
