plain is not bad, but EVERYONE has motegi mr7s

OMG, no kidding. I just mounted/balanced 18" chrome MR7s at my work a couple days ago. those rims are EVERYWHERE.

I have Motegi FF5's and have no faults w/ them. i've smashed into some pretty good sized potholes and the damage to them was MINIMAL... what i mean by that, is now a couple rims are slightly out of round. nothing major. being 17's, thats kind of expected though...

I've been thinking about getting RT5's. They look pretty nice, and are available in black. Plus they weigh 16 pounds, which isn't too bad.

I have MR7s. They are 2 years old and have held up great to potholes and snow and aout 40k miles. They arent that heavy, not lightweight, but not too heavy. I can lift them easily. They are good for a daily driver, however now that I am going all show I am looking at a different set of Motegis...I forget which ones right at the moment. But anyway I did paint mine gunmetal, but all but one looks like it came that way (one I messed up and needs to be sanded down and repainted). But theyre great, Ive gotten TONS and I mean TONS of compliments on them. If you want I'll sell them to you with the tires for $400 shipped. They are 16s and again one you're gonna wanna sand and repaint, and probably get replacement center caps for. The tires are Falken Ziexs two are new and two have very low tread. I even have an extra silver one that is slightly bent on the lip that I'll throw in if youre interested.

Mine are Forged 17's that weigh 15.5 lbs

Motegi's are heavy as hell.

17 inch Mr7's weigh 24 lbs!!!!! - that SUCKS! the company is overrated.

Well, I'm a bit surprised.. I didn't think Motegi had such a reputation..

I've got 17" gunmetal MR7 on my Tib for 3 years now.. Like it has been said, they're quite heavy at 25lbs each. Another thing, they bend easily in 17" with 205/40 tires, but hey I live in Quebec and as you may know, our roads suck wink1.gif

Blu, I think as long as you buy your wheels from somewhere reputable, you shouldn't have any problems. I like those rims you posted, and there is probably a couple more that are similar that might tickle your fancy.

I would look into forged wheels if I were you. They're very durable and light weight compared to cast. The downside is they're gonna be a little more expensive.
