i got a low profile jack from advance auto parts.

 

Good inputs. I'll look into some 2x4's and I'll pull out the stock jack until I find a nice slim jack.

I have the $69 one but the body of it is small and can kinda get tippy. You have to be careful and definately use jack stands if you are going underneath the car at all.

 

I think the best combo is a nice true racing jack, one pump gets the car all the way up, (like nascar and stuff) and a set of 2x6 or 2x8 blocks sanded down so you climb up a good 6-8 inches up and then another 20 inches to have the tires rest on. I just know I spend so much time under the car, that I gotta trust my jack. I use stands yes, but I'd hate to think that the one time I used the jack only the thing falls on me. Go with a sturdy name brand smile.gif I dont skimp on things that could result in my head squished under an oil pan.
