I think this thread is somewhere else on the site, but I can't find it. If anyone knows where it is let me know, otherwise just answer here. I want to paint my calipers but there are a lot of people that tell you different ways to do it. Who has done it and has a good method for me to use?

I have heard elsewhere that I should use engine paint to do the calipers since they are heat resistant. If this is true I was thinking of using the Duplicolor Metalcast base and then some metalcast Red. Would this work? I think it would look pretty sweet if it would. Let me know so I can get to painting and taking pictures!

Darn it.. now I forget what I company I used... I would not go with engine paint though... An engine block does not really get more than 200 degrees.. maybe a little hotter in places... but 250 tops... brakes can get up to where they start to glow...

the only thing about buying paint online is you can't really tell if the color is what you want until you get it and then it is usually too much of a hassle to return it. I'd rather buy it at a store or at least see it in person before I order it online.

Duplicolor makes a paint that is good for up to 1200 degrees. I don't know if the Metalkast paints are heat resistant or not, I will have to look on my cans.

Foliatech! thankyou! I used their red on my calipers over a year ago... they are still just as red as the day I painted them.. and I used to cook the brakes in the mountains when I worked up in the Appalacians
