New Caliper = Spongy Brakes?

Had to change the driver' side caliper 'cause the old one rusted up on me (killed my EBC's...sniff)
Switched everything perfectly, bled the line and topped up the brake fluid but now the brakes feel much spongier than they did before.
Any ideas why this could be? Perhaps the old rusted caliper caused the pads to sit closer to the rotor, resulting in a quicker, tighter feel?

you probably need to bleed em more. brakes shouldnt be spongy after bleeding for any amount of time, dont know where you heard that from. 33.gif
the spongyness is caused by air being trapped in the lines, and a good bleeding job will get rid of all air.

Depends on the spongyness I imagine, when I had some retards resurface my rotors the brakes were spongy afterwards but went away after a couple trips up and down the street.
If your still complaining about it now I guess it didn't go away like mine did.

next time you get a couple of hours, get a friend and bleed both fronts a GOOD amount.

they probably didnt bleed your brakes at all. fresh rotors will feel different the first couple stops.
did you bleed the brakes in the right order, and thoroughly? pass. rear, driver rear, pass. front, driver front. dont use those crappy vaccum things. they never work right. get someone to push the brake pedal until you see no bubbles.

All my brake fluid leaked out. I had no brakes.
Topped it up and the car stops reasonably now. Still scared.
The leak is from within the caliper and doesn't look to be the line or the bolt.
Any suggestions?

Im not sure what the bleeder valve is. Any way you can help me understand?
If it is the valve that sticks out, should I close/ tighten it further?
