I have stock springs. And now my front shocks (KYB orange, don't know model name) has a leak. So I need to replace them.

I don't wanna lower my car. What shocks would you recommend?
I want good handling and cornering.

 

No lowering, but good cornering and handling

Pretty hard, most of the aftermarket stuff are lowering springs or coilover sets. The handling of a lowering kit is almost always better the stock springs/normal springs.

None of them really. If you are getting new springs (performance oriented you WILL lower some) the stock shocks will not last very long. Kinda pointless to take everything about twice in a few months.

Wow it helps if I read some. The stock springs are pretty loose and will make the shocks do alot more work. Why dont you just replace the one bad shock and then get new springs? Would probably cost the same $ for $.

 

As I said before, I don't want to lower my car. If it's possible to find springs without lowering (not expensive) that would be awesome.

I don't want to lower my car, cause in Ukraine roads are crappy and with 4" clearance it would be difficult to go through some lying policemen (speed limiters). In summer I live in my summer residence B) (not in city) and the roads to get there are very crappy, and sometimes I'm afraid to break my oilpan :unsure:

 

i dont know a whole lot about suspension, but couldn't he just get adjustable coilovers and put them at their highest setting??

Still, adj coilovers are f*cking expensive and a waste when you just put them in the highest position (I mean, that's like buying a P4 3,6 Ghz processor and you only needed a P2 so you just let it run on 500 Mhz )

Highest coilover setting is probably still lower then the stock shock dampeners and springs rolleyes.gif

I'd say just buy some Eibach (or whatever brand) lowering springs. It maybe lower your car by 1 inch, but it's still high enough. I have 17" and Eibach lowering (1.25 / 1.5 inch) and I can still take any speedbump this country has come up with ad about normal speeds. Cheapest solution, just my .02
