yea yea
i kno some car parts are just rough for the hell of it, but they are really rough!
i ordered them used with about 4k miles on em, i doubt the place i ordered em from would sell me knock off rotors, so is this how the rotor supposed to feel like, and that it just needs lubricating????
thanks in advance folks!

No, rotors should be smoother than a babies bottom.
unless they are cross drilled or slotted that is.
Used rotors? *shudder*
Braking is one of those areas where you really don't want to comprimise. I'm comprimise on power and weight before comprismising on brakes.
i would send these back and get a refund, and slap new rotors on.
www.stcharlesauto.com will give you great prices on a set of stocker rotors
www.frozenrotors.com will cryo treat them for $25 a rotor and cross drill or slot them (your choice) for another $25 a rotor.

Rotors can be turned, as long as they are not too badly damaged/warped. The pep boys guys should be able to tell you if they are beyond repair.
Make sure you use new pads with new rotors or freshly turned rotors.

Pads bed themselves into the rotor, so they make 100% (or as close as possible) contact.
Over time, the rotors get rings around them, and the pads dig into those rings. If you put ringed pads on a flat rotor, you will only be making 25% pad/rotor contact (if that).
Spend the money, get new pads.
Some people will tell you that you can resurface your pads by smoothing them out with sandpaper. I'm not an advocate of this. For the $25 to $40 bucks a set of pads will run you...they are cheap when you consider old pads can lead to your new rotors warping, or brake fade and getting into an accident.
Like I said before. Comprimise everywhere else...but not in braking.

tucker when you showed me those rotors in florence it was from rust. usually when you buy new brake pads they will turn your rotors for free or at least thats how we do it. so how about tell them when they take your old rotors off to just use your new ones and turn them. that way you save 24 dollars and get new brake pads at the same time just an idea smile.gif
