1 in 120,000 miles. Because i hit a curb in a construction zone. f you replace the same one over and over, tell your mechanic to clean the housing because a bit of dirt will ruin the bearings. They ride very flush.

Keep the hub bolts tight, avoid curbs, and dont turn the wheels when stopped.

in my 97 i replaced all four, and in my 2000 when i bought it i replaced both fronts... but i'm going to have to replace the passenger front again becuase my INSTRUCTOR used an impact on it because "they come loaded up ready to go you don't need the torque wrench"

yeah, thanks a lot for the misinformation

Reminds me of the time a child in government school got in trouble for arguing with the teacher . . .

. . . arguing the teacher was wrong, when the teacher said a mile was less than a kilometer. I'd say take that misinformation straight to the head of whatever school you were attending and tell him his instructor is a dummy for advising not to use a torque wrench in one of the places where it actually matters.

None.

I don't count the Tiburon because it had the 97-01 hub swap (which sometimes I regret because I think the ABS is removed).

175k Elantra still rides great.

hurray for lincoln college of technology. and it was a female instructor. but oh well damage is done, at least they have a 2 year warranty on the bearing, all i have to do is pull it and get a new one... but still it is extra work i shouldn't have had to do. and believe me i've gone to them before for different things that were incorrect about this school, and they never do anything about it, and i've actually been threatened with suspension from class before for bringing up how inept the teacher was with the dyno

he didn't know how to set it up, didn't actually WANT to teach us, and ended up breaking it so we couldn't even use it. it's alright though, this is my last class and i'm out. hopefully the hyundai dealerships around waco take me seriously the ones up here all think lincoln tech is a big joke
