I'm wondering if that's because people are harder on their cars then michael jackson is on little boys, or if it's just a design flaw.

HILARIOUS!
back on topic- on my first tib the passenger front went out at about 56000 (in warranty) and then I didnt have any trouble up until I got rid of it at like 66000. Im not sure if they had been replaced before

how do you know if its going bad?

The usual signs. Depression, listlessness, non-communative, staying out late, performance problems in school, anger management issues, potentially drug use...

All are signs of going bad.... lol.gif

Seriously...
a grinding/trashing/gnashing noise coming from one (or more) corners of the car that increases with wheel speed.

I've replaced 3 so far. First to go was the pass rear @ 100,000, in the middle of the New Mexico desert. Limped it all the way to Random's in LA for replacement!
Other two (both drivers side) went @ the same time around 130,000- 140,000.
I have always treated the car bad from day one. Used to take it drag racing EVERY weekend (prior to hitting 100,000). And was driving it hard every day, all day around 400+ miles per day for the first two years of it's life.
