ok, so i took the thing apart but one side came apart... a little different than the other.

one side has the bottom nut peice, spring, piston piece and o-ring all together. then the other they seperate... don't know which way it's supposed to be. I'm thinking the seperate way since the side that they were stuck together was the side that didn't work right.

edit: Well I figured it out!! and holy crap the tib brakes freaking awesome now!! i guess apparently this was a problem i've had for a while if not the whole time I've had the car and didn't know about. the whole rear side of the proportioning valve was seized up with rust and junk. after taking that apart and a good cleaning all things seem to be in order once again.

btw, I thought of making a diy but this doesn't really seem to be a common problem from what I've heard/seen.
