I had a grinding/metalic/hissing sound when breaking, it sounded kinda bad. There was nothing I could do about it. I changed my pads, turned my rotors twice, cleaned my guide rails, checked calipers and so on and so forth. It would make odd noises ESPECIALLY early in the morning. I couldn't figure it out
My RD2 has noisy breaks. It came with, and I bought the metalic type. The noise was amplified inside the cab as it is when you hit a rock with the back tires.
Quick fix: Disk Break Quiet. You can find it at most auto parts stores. It's a metalic compound you spray on the rotor after turning or any time at all according to the label. It gets in, fills the groves, and makes your breaks quiet. I havn't had a problem since, and rust is not apparent on the rotors either
