Ok, In the 01 Tibby's it almost feels as if my car is oversteering in turns? I have had my car sideways MANY times because as I come to the apex of the turn that if I stay in it hard enough I can bring the rear end around with EASE...Usually FWD will under steer tramendisouly. Does anyone else have this problem (not that its really a problem) or is it just that the RD's handle so well they act as RWD? I dont know help me and let me know what worked best for suspension upgrade.

Also can someone feel me in on the RD1 and RD2 and BETA all that stuff? WHAT IS THE MADDNESS laugh.gif

No problems here mate. I usually (read always) understeer, even with no extra power in the corners. Weird that yours understeer, no rubbing back wheels or something. If I use the handbrake then the back breaks out cool.gif

You may have to much pressure in your rear tires, I found this out when I pumped mine up a tad to high for an autox event, I took out alot of cones with the rear end that run.

Are you braking, or quickly letting off the throttle mid-turn? This will shift weight towards the front of the car, which causes you to lose traction on your rear wheels, thus the "oversteer". I spun out like that exiting the freeway once, wasn't a pretty sight lol.

all elantras from 1997- current have betas
its the only engine offered

and i think there right about the air pressure thing
when i accidently forgot to deflate my rear tires after drag racing i understeered like crazy
then i went back to 33 all the way around and it handled fine

I have found that the Tiburon is one of the better balanced frontwheel drive cars. I rarely have a problem with understeer and it is very easy to provoke the rear to snap out.

Too low an airpressure in the back can also make it tailhappy

Hey Redz sorry about the dumb question, I didnt even think about that being in the FAQ's If I do it again be like " HEY Ninja you best step back and check yo self" But I agree with the tibby being on of the best balanced fwd's because if you get it sideways its just so easy to control and it sits so well. But I tried the pressure thing and I tried staying as steady as I could and i tried floating the car around a turn and I can still feal the back end coming lose, Im not braking or rapidly slowing down i just slowly let out of the throttle, I dont know Ill play around what comes up and Ill let you guys know. Thinks for all the comments.
