Hey guys, Just purchased some 17" Volks-- Now I'm looking for some tires to go. I've done alot of research and have decided to go with Falken 512's. Do any of you guys have any experince with these tires? I'm kind of interested in the Continental Contisport but the Falken's seem to be one of the best tires for the dollar PLUS they're some of the lightest tires available wieghing at or just under 20lbs a tire. Any advice would be appeciated.

Good to see you too REDZ... I've been on hiatus. I was working on about three or four projects at the same time. You know the saying "Got my mind on my money and my money on my mind.." Hope everything is going well with that Air Ram GB.

I had the ziex on my tibby last summer and my friend currently has them on his stang. I personally didn't like them, the didn't hook up real well and during autocrosses the sidewalls rolled to easy which caused waaaayyy to much understeer. the Azenis are pretty cheap and hook up real well, not to good in wet weather though. Kumho ecsta supra 711 or 712's are very popular.

had a pair of those tires once.....rode good until I hit a pothole 02.gif......I would reccommend them. Altough right now im rolling one Ecstas 712 and the other ZE 512 in the rear with Continental (wet weather) tires up front

Default Front strut bar

I currenly have 16" Ecstas and, in my opinion, work very well in the wet. I also beat the hell on them on curves and held up nicely. There were times where the car felt like it was going to slip(only for an instant) and the tires would grab. The only thing (once in again it's my opinion) is that they're not that good or consistant on straight line high rpm launches. That is why I was leaning on the Falken's cause they hook up well BUT if they don't handle well in the wet, then I'm going to keep options open. The Azenis's are a good looking tire, I might look into that one. Keep on with the suggestions guys this helps me out.

Redz, I'll send you a PM in a while. Gotta work right now!! Thanks

I was saying how the Azenis don't handle to well in the wet cause they are closer to a race tire, the ziex did work well in the rain, I just wasn't to impressed with them when I started to push them. but for an all around tire I didn't have many complaints. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm getting the Falkens today--hopefully, along with my wheels and procrastinted dyno times. if there's a bid difference over my Kuhmo's I'll let you guys know.
