I already have gr2 struts. They seem to ne working good.

there is a HUGE difference between them and my tokikos i have on the maxima

-ive never done it to a car with coil over strut suspension but heres what i know.

-you can cut the springs without damaging the springs (if you keep the cuts inline with the spring buckets). however your stock spring rate is dependant on your spring length. you would be better cutting a lowering spring than your stock springs because they are designed to have a higher spring rate to keep your car from traveling as far as your factory suspension (because your closer to the ground). if you cut your stock springs your now closer to the ground and you have even more spring travel.

-i cut my springs on the front of my toyota truck. it came with torsion bars from the factory, i removed them made a new lower control arm and installed QA1 coilovers. i bought 3 sets of front springs because i couldn't find anyone with a suspension setup like mine so i was shooting in the dark with spring rates and spring length. i drove it for 6 years with the cut springs with no problems (keep in mind this was a custom suspension nothing like the factory).

 

what's the difference between coilover *adjustable strut/spring combo* and a coilover sleeve? i've never heard of the sleeves

 

Sleeves just have the lower spring perch sit on top of the strut body instead of the lower spring perch being threaded onto the strut body. Sleeves use any strut you want but aren't as good as "real" coilovers because they're not a solidly combined unit and the spring length is shorter than on a full coilover.

And Faith is right, the GR2's are crap, just stock replacements, the AGX's are great, as are the Eibach dampers.

I love my Eibach/HKS setup.

pls pls pls don't cut your springs... get spring clamps... they do the same thing.
