coilovers
I have been searching the message board for anyone with coilovers and haven't found anything. Everyone is using lowering springs. IS there a reason for this other than cost. I live in Montana and i need a height adjustable system for the winters. If i slam my car with springs i will be like a snow plow. I noticed that www.hve.com.au has them. Any and all comments would be appreciated. Thanks

There are many coilover kits made in Korea, however due to their high cost Shark Racing does not carry them as a normal item. They would have to be shipped via boat due to their high weight (4 springs plus 4 struts = about 100 lbs).
If I am not mistaken they start at about $1500 for cheap units, and go up from there. Some cost over $4000. HKS makes a set, but they are about $2100. (add shipping to all of this).
HDK does carry "Best" brand coilovers, but I do not know of anyone who has them installed. Those units are only $800. I fear the quality of $800 coilovers when all other brands are twice the price, but HDK is fairly good with returns...so you could always be the first to get them.

i understand that the extreme style coilovers that allow you to adjust everything from ride height to soft and hard levels would be expensive but what about the hve ones that are height only. 1200 US dollars for 3 inches of drop. This sounds like a good deal for me cause i need to change the ride height regularly due to weather in Montana.. I was hopeing someone would know how they work or if they are worth the cash

I would trust HVE, and for $1200, you know you are getting better quality (HVE) than the "best" brand coilovers at HDK.
3" is a real SEVERE drop unless you are parked for a show. I'd be wiling to bet the stock 15" rims would rub with a 3" drop!
I know you probably aren't planning on going that low, I was just thinking out loud

How wide are your tires and what offset are the wheels? That determines how low you can drop your car.
I have YET to hear of anyone rub with ANY tire using the Eibach 1.2". Keyword there...YET!

I have 17" x 7.5 alloys and i was getting slight rub from the rear but only under load or hard cornering. This was happening on stock setup as well as with the Eibach pro springs.
I had the rear arches rolled under, this eliminates the small lip under the arch and gives room for the wheels.
My alloys sit completely flush with the body and so I have NO over hang. so where body stops wheels begin....And it looks and feels great!?

What are the offset of the wheels, and what size of the tyres are you using? My guess is that you are using 225 tyres...right?
