The strut part of the coilover is about the same overall size as the stock, just a bit shorter. The springs are smaller in diameter and height because they use standard sized springs throughout their coilover line to make production easier/cheaper and just offer different spring rates. They also allow the lower spring perch to sit below the top of the tire which isn't possible on most stock setups allowing you to maintain long suspension travel for a better ride on a lowered vehicle.
