Hi, Dealership tells me that both rear wheel bearings are bad... so I'm pricing out rear wheel hub assemblies out on the internet... mind you I live in Canada so its not as cheap as down there..

Rear Hubs for ABS cars are $85 ea

Rear hubs without ABS are... $149! ea

I always thought ABS stuff was more expensive as they are more complicated....

can I take out my bad non-abs hub and drop in a new ABS rear Hub. I don't have ABS to begin with, so I won't be using that functionality... Would anyone know about fitment and such? I would imagine the ABS hub have some extra sensors on there to detect wheel lock or what not...

I have Timkin rear ABS hubs on my NON-ABS Tiburon and have had no problems. Work great. You should have no problems. Its when you HAVE ABS that you cannot put non ABS hubs on. For you it doesnt matter since you do not have ABS.

Get a pry bar and pry the abs sensor off of the hub.. problem solved. They are pressed on...

Running abs hubs in an non-abs car is not a problem. When I did my rear bearings, I could not even get non-abs hubs.

The ABS hubs work fine. I destroyed my non-ABS hubs doing the rear crummy brakes, and got two ABS hubs to replace them. No fitment issues, and new bearings=better mileage.

It's like this.. nobody in their right mind is going to expend effort to produce and market non-abs hubs when you can use ABS hubs on all the cars without an issue. One production line, one box, one part number, and less stock to take up shelf space.

Last I checked, they only sell one hub for the rear. I was getting mine for $49 a piece. They had an extra gear around the outside of the hub (I'm assuming it was for ABS). I cut the gear off and fit perfectly.

Mad-Machine: Yeah I would think that there WOULD be one part number.. however take a looksee here; this is what I was referring to... other sites show the same part seperation.
