Brakes

ok so that's the short version, what about the long one tongue.gif
I guess take off little rubber thingies on the calipers and start pumping brakes until fluid is out and then add new brake fluid and start pumping until fluid comes out and close up the stuff.
right ?
or something like that

Well, kinda, when you replace those lines I would suggest to bleed them dry first. When you remove them they will have fluid in them which might splash anywhere. This way you don't get it on yourself or the paint on your car.

get a plastic tuperware dish. take off the brake line at the caliper with the dish underneath. a bunch of brake fluid will leak out. undo the rest of the line, and catch all the brake fluid. put new lines on, fill up brake fluid resevoir almost to full. then bleed the brakes. to do this, attach a clear tube to the bleeder nipple on the caliper(has a plastic cover on it), and have it epty into the plastic container. have someone else in the car lightly push on the brakes. unscrew the bleeder screw(i think its like a 10m) untill you see fluid come out. the fluid should have bubbles in it. continue bleeding until the bulbbles are gone. this eans all the air has been purged fromt he system.
there is a certain order to it aswell. start at the caliper furthest away from the master cylinder, and work your way closer. so,
pass rear
driv rear
pass front
driv front.

alright the webtech oledb database server is taken a nap...
where exactly is the bleedvalve ? prob somewhere near the master cylinder.
So if I got it right:
*watch your paint*
remove lines at caliper (catch fluid)
remove lines
insert new lines
fill brakefluid to max
remove plastic cover fit a tube catch fluid (in the order you specified)
open the bleedvalve
make a friend which can push the brake pedal for ya.
wait until bubbles are gone
put plastic back
do other brakes
sorry for the posts but I wanna sure I do this right, it's just my and passengers lifes depending on it.
I love working on stuff myself, but I'm rather careful with stuff like engines and brakes and all.
