Im in the middle of a brake job on the back and the caliper wont sit right on the bracket. When I tighten it down, the rotor wont sit flush. Am I missing something? Will not having the little clips for the pads affect it? Or the parking brake cable? Anything?

No its not engaged. Well I bought some, but when I went to go pick them up,(from dealer) I found out they were for the front! So I have to sort that out.

they arent required, but your pads will be a lot more noisy. make sure there is nothing between the rotors and the hubs. did you screw in the rear caliper pistons? you need a special tool(looks like a cube, and attaches to a socket wrench) available at any auto stores to compress the rear pistons so that you can put on the thicker pads.

If your careful, you can use a pair of needle-nose to screw the piston back in. At least that's how I do it. Too cheap to but the tool and it has worked well for me in the past.

The tool is only $8 or so at Advance Auto. It makes things a lot easier.

Ive got it compessed as far as I can with needle-nose pliers and I can get the caliper on, but it just wont sit right.

are you sure that caliper will fit your car?

try putting the caliper bracket on first, snap the brake pads in there, and then the caliper over it.

I know that D and I both had problems with the sliding pins. Do yours move easily and freely? These are the parts that the caliper bolts to. They have little rubber boots on them.
