Default 205/50 or 205/40 ...

i currently have got the b&g springs (1.5 in drop) on my ride and im looking to upgrade my wheels to 17 inches...i just dont know what size tire to get. I saw someone post that 205/50's are to big and would rub... but ive never heard anything about that before so im not sure if that info is accurate cuz i would rather stick with the 50's but if i have to ill go with 40's. If anyone could help .. please post ... thanx

Use this...

205/40/R17 is the proper size to keep your speedo reading right.

205's should not rub as long as the wheel offset is between +36 and +40. If you got to 215 wide tires, stick with a +34 to +38 offset. You CAN fit other tires/wheels, but you increase the chance of rubbing/throwing off your speedometer.
