Default 2 or 4 winter tires?

i'm planning on getting winter tires for the tib this season. I was wondering if it would be practical to just get 2 tires for the front instead of all four. Or am i just a cheap bastrd?

Being from Minnesota, I'd recommend 4. If you get just 2 for the front you'll have unballanced traction between the front and rear. I've found the Tib to like to oversteer in the snow anyway, so with less traction it'll be even worse.
Just my opinion.

Agreed,...
Get 4 dude,... saving like 200 bucks just doesn't make sense when it comes to traction in the snow.

thanks.... looks like I'll be getting all four tires.

I've decided to go with Nokian winter tires.

Tell me about it, I have two Alpin Arctics on the front and the stock all-seasons on the back and I am scared out of my tree! The car loves to loose rear traction...no matter where it goes.

Heh...I did a 360 just yesterday going down an incline. Was just wet though...seems rear traction sux on slick roads for the tib. it was one hell-of-a nice 360 though. Nice 20-30 ft drop off on right side of road...and I ended up in the other lane...but I missed the drop off..THANK GOD.
