if the tires are rubbing on the fender itself (not the black plastic lining) it could eventually tear up the fender, and possibly tear it off. I've heard of that happening. It's not the fact that he has 17" wheels, it could be the width and the tire size. Since they chose what tires to use, take it back and tell them you need 205/40/17... and please tell us the width and offset of the rims (call the place you got them from, they could tell you)

What is the offset on the rims you bought?

Ditto,... should be about +40 or +42 offset,... any less, and you got rubbage

Also like everyone has repeated 205/40R17's is the size you want for 17 rims, any wider, and yeah, you'll probably rub

Thats EXACTLY why I like to do things MYSELF!!! Almost everytime I take my car to a shop, something is not done right and I either have to take it back to the morons and hope that they grew a brain cell while I was gone and do it right, or I end up taking it apart and doing it myself. My advice to you is to never take your car to a shop, especially when you get aftermarket parts, wheels/stereo's/bodywork/engine until you do the research on your own and have a good idea of what should be happening to the car.

Well, G/L with it. If I were you, I would NOT allow the rubbing to continue. Its unsafe for you AND other motorists. Get it done right and do yourself and all of us who share the road with you a favor. Trust me, you will be much happier in the long run. fing02.gif smile.gif

They put 215/50/R17's on the rim. They are 40 offset, and are 7.5 inches wide. I never drove it home with those tires because theyre was no way i could have driven it. I told them to take them off and put my 14s back on. I told them to get the 205/40/17. So the tires should be here early next week. Im sure they will fit. Thanks for all the help everyone. BTW my springs are purple. Are they stock?

Purple springs are definitely not stock .. lol.

Man what a dumb shop, I would have just done it yourself.
How much are you paying for all this?
