17's Won't Fit!?!

go outside and look at the side of the tire. Tell us what it says (215/45/17 ... 225/45/17... etc)
Also, try to find out how wide the tires are (17x7, 17x8, etc.). I have 17x7.5 and I've got 215/45/17 on the front WITH NO DROP and it rubs when I first put the brand new tires on, until I wear it down a little bit.

I've got a set of Sparco Racing 17inch wheels, size 17 x 8.
if you've got a 1999 hyundai tiburon, you're going to have the same issue as mine.
Until you get the tire workshop to get some modifications done.
Do you really want to keep the wheels?
they should have ordered you a 17 x 6 wheels.
* Fenders widened
* guards rolled.
get the inside mudguard trimmed.
buy tire size 215/45/17, Rear tires can be 235/45/17.
I like the 17inch Sparco Racing wheels, but It was hard work making them fit.

i just got some 17 inch wheels and i rub very little but i have trimmed my guard and have to relocate my windshield wiper reservior becuz that still rubs when i turn sharp. It was hard to get the wheels on at first too becuz i have a bodykit and it was rubbin against the sideskirts when the car was jacked. So u arent the only one. But thats what i did and the wheels look great and its not like any1 can really see the guards anyways.

I'm not sure why you guys are having such problems with your wheels. I have the Eibach 1.2" drop AND 18" rims and I have no rubbing. I think you probably have the wrong offset and possibly the wrong series of tire on the rim. For 17's I think the concensus is a 40 series profile. I have 18's so I am using a 35 series profile. Good luck with it. fing02.gif

Guys! It's not the rims that rub.
You can put 18" wheels on and they will be smaller in outer diameter than stock. For example 205/30 R18 are smaller than 205/50 R15
Same with 15" rims. you can put on 205/65 R15 tires and it will rub.
Tell us what tires do you use.

doesnt really bother me lol just burns off the plastic stuff to the point where it stops rubbin without even affectin the tires. And i really have no problem other than when i bounce alot (becuz i have stock springs) or turn left really sharp.
